Day 16 – Frisco

4.9 miles to Halfmoon Campground and ride to Frisco

Today was our last day in the mountains. Since we only had less than 5 miles to go, we slept in and took our time packing up. We were ready to go by 9 am and took the east trail down to the Halfmoon Campground.

On the way we stopped at Emerald lake to have lunch and kill time. We got to the lake at 10:40 am and our “shuttle” driver wasn’t picking us up until 1 pm.  Shuttle in this case was Rudolf and his dusty Volvo, the same former Dutchman who retired to Tennessee Pass and had picked us up from the Denver Airport 2.5 weeks earlier.  We asked Rudolf to drive us to the town of Frisco 1.5 hours away.  The next day we would be taking the Colorado “Bustang” bus to Downtown Denver, then a commuter train to the airport.
