Travel Days & Waterfalls

July 2 & 3: Long two days of bus traveling. On Monday we took a greyhound bus to Fresno. Everyone should at least experience a Greyhound bus ride once in their lifetime.

The next day we took the YARTS (Yosemite area rapid transit system) bus to Yosemite valley.

We checked into the Yosemite wilderness center and got our JMT and Half Dome permits.

After setting up camp and a snack we set off to see Vernal and Nevada falls. Wow, beautiful waterfalls. But you got to work for it…lots of granite stairs and pretty much straight up. Going back down really sucked. Knees do not like going downhill. But nothing some ibuprofen won’t cure. Below are some pics of the trail and waterfalls.

And guess what? We get to do some of that again tomorrow as we make our way to Half Dome.

Having a great time in Yosemite.

Total miles hiked: 7 (non-JMT)
