Started at an elevation of 6,122’ and peaked at 9,710’.
Today was a grueling day of climbing. The entire day for the exception of the last hour was steeply uphill. However we had spectacular views of different valleys. We also hiked a large portion through some burned areas.
The climbing plus the altitude gain had both of us huffing and puffing today. We put in a 10 hour hike.
Health issue: Ellen’s left knee is really hurting. She borrowed one of Jeff’s knee braces which helped a little. It became a case of mind over matter and being distracted of the pain. Lots of “tic-tacs” (ibuprofen).
